My name is Ralph Beam and I founded Rock and Scroll in May, 2003. My darling
wife bought me a scroll saw because she wanted me to get a hobby. I was
anticipating retiring from my profession as a Corrections Officer in June, 2005.
I did a few craft shows, and the response was extremely positive. Things at
work changed, regarding retirement benefits, and I decided it was in my best
interest to retire a year earlier then expected.
This allowed me to put all my time effort into Rock and Scroll. I make wood
plaques and intarsia pieces. Most of my work is from established patterns, but
I am not afraid to do custom orders. I have already done animals (pets) to
customer's specifications and a few lesser known organization logos (local
teams like High Schools, Fire and Police Departments, etc). The plaques make
great personal gifts for loved ones and friends.
I can do all Professional Sports Teams, including some minor league teams.
Basically, if I have the pattern or you can supply the pattern, it can be done.
I live in the quaint little town of Orwigsburg, PA. I can ship the item anywhere.
Cost is dependent on the size and types of wood used. I was taught that stains
are not necessary, because of the variety of colors ans shades of wood. You
will not see any stains on my work, unless you order it that way.
